Selected papers from the Theoretical Issues in Sign Language Conference, Amsterdam 2000. Data from 48 different sign languages were presented and some comparisons were made in order to determine whether common principles are at work. Other papers focus on details of individual sign languages and some interesting and provoking conclusions are reached. Contributions have been organised into five different sections: general, lexicon and phonology, morphosyntax, pragmatics, and psycholinguistics. Includes a free CD-Rom.
