The Gentleman's Magazine was founded in 1731 and was the first use of the term 'magazine' to describe a publication. It was a wide collection of 'all Matters of Information and Amusement' and ceased publication after 183 years in 1914. In an inspired project, Raymond Lee and his team painstakingly searched the entire archives to filter out all to do with deafness to produce this fascinating and amazing collection of historical items relating to Deaf history.
