This M.Ed dissertation is a review of the literature on the educational attainments of Deaf children, with particular emphasis on literacy, and the provision of Religious Education to Jewish deaf children. The project grew out of the Jewish Deaf community's concern that there were educational factors that were preventing effective access to Judaism and to the understanding of its festivals.
