Charlie is 5 years old and has Cerebral Palsy. He finds it extremely difficult to move around independently. He relies on splints to help support his legs but is unable to stand still and is always falling over; his little knees show the scars and bumps that he’s accumulated over his short life.
There is a procedure called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy or SDR for short which has the potential to change Charlie’s life. Unfortunately for Charlie and his family, the operation is currently not funded by the NHS and despite being identified as an ideal candidate for the procedure by the Surgeons during his formal assessment; the case was rejected for funding.
Please, if you can, help us reach the target and get Charlie living life to the full!
